Portrait of Dub Theory

Artist Bio

Dub Theory is rooted in Enfield, North London - shaped by the pirate radio era where sound systems, tower block frequencies and late-night broadcasts defined the culture. Growing up on pirate stations the foundation was built directly from the source.

A former pirate radio DJ across the wider London underground circuit, Dub Theory was active in the scene long before streaming - also DJ'ing at events including One Nation and Garage Nation. That experience runs through everything: real crowd understanding, real system pressure, no shortcuts.

Skipping school to hunt records and spending years working in record shops, he learned the culture from the inside out - not just the sound, but the movement behind it. Vinyl-first mentality, instinctive swing, and a deep respect for the foundations.

His productions reflect that lineage - swing-heavy garage, weighty low-end, and the raw pressure of early jungle and house. Stripped back, functional, and built for systems rather than streams.

Dub Theory isn't chasing trends - he's locked into a frequency that never left.
